Transfers

How long does it take for a transfer from another provider to arrive in my CMC Invest account?

Although the length of time can vary, transferring a Stocks & Shares ISA or General Investment Account (GIA) from another provider to your CMC Invest account usually takes around 30 days. For a Cash ISA, it typically takes around 15 days. During busy periods, such as the run-up to the end of the UK tax year on 5 April, transfers may take longer, depending on how quickly your current provider responds to our request.

The quickest way to transfer to us is to follow the steps in our app – enter the details of the account you wish to transfer to us and submit your transfer request. We’ll then get in touch with your current provider to arrange the transfer. You’ll be able to track the progress of your transfer(s) in our app, using our transfers dashboard.


Can I transfer a joint account to CMC Invest?

Yes you can, though both account holders need to agree. To help us verify your identity, you may need to prepare additional documents, such as bank statements, that show your name and address.


Deposits and withdrawals

How long does it take for a deposit to arrive in my CMC Invest account?

Bank transfers typically take one business day to arrive in your CMC Invest account, but they can take longer. To avoid delays, make deposits from a personal bank account in your name and include the payment reference. Please contact us if your deposit has not arrived in your account within two business days.


How long does it take for a withdrawal from my CMC Invest account to arrive in my bank account?

When you withdraw money from your CMC Invest account, it usually takes three to five business days to arrive in your registered bank account. If you’ve recently sold an investment, you won’t be able to withdraw the proceeds of that sale until the settlement date shown on your contract note.
