What information are we collecting and how are we collecting it?

Information you provide to us
You provide us with personal information by filling in the application or other forms on our website, the iOS or Android application (Apps) or the CMC platform, by accessing and trading on your account through our platform or by corresponding with us by phone, email or otherwise. The information you provide us may include your name, email address, physical address, home and mobile phone numbers, contact details, financial information about your income and wealth, identification information such as National Insurance or National Identification number, date of birth, IP address, device ID, MAC address, professional and employment details, records of products and services you’ve obtained or applied for, trading history and other analogous personal information.

We will also collect information about you through your use of this website, the iOS or Android application (Apps) and our platform. This information may include site areas visited, pages viewed, frequency and duration of visits.
Information we receive from other sources
We may also collect your personal information from third parties, including, for example, business partners, analytics providers, search information providers, credit reference agencies and third-party marketing companies or through publicly available sources.
Monitoring of communications
Subject to applicable laws, we will monitor and record your calls, emails, text messages, app and digital communications, social media messages and other communications in relation to your dealings with us. We will do this for regulatory compliance, crime prevention and detection purposes, to protect the security of our communications systems and procedures, for quality control and staff training, and so we can provide you with a record of what’s been said when you require one. We will also monitor activities on your account where necessary for these reasons and this is justified by our legitimate interests or our legal obligations.

To keep you updated while you are a client in relation to matters such as your trading or investment activities;
To manage and administer the products and services provided to you;
To provide you with information regarding the products and services offered by CMC Invest;
To develop an understanding of the products and services that you may be interested in obtaining from CMC Invest;
To provide you with information or opportunities that we believe may be relevant to you;
To tailor the website, the iOS and Android application (Apps), or other services we provide to you to meet your needs and interests;
To create anonymised statistical data we may share anonymised data with other companies; however this data will not include any information that personally identifies you;
'Do Not Call' provisions
From time to time, CMC Invests may contact you via call or SMS to inform you about our products and services.
If you have previously consented to receiving marketing and/or promotional messages, we will continue to send you such messages until you withdraw your consent. If you no longer wish to receive marketing and/or promotional messages, please contact us at email@example.com.
Pursuant to Part XI of the PDPA, please note that your personal data may be used by us to send you marketing and/or promotional messages. We will not send you marketing and/or promotional messages to the telephone number(s) you have registered with the Do Not Call Registry.
Disclosure and sharing of personal data
To companies within the CMC Markets Group which includes CMC Markets Plc and its subsidiaries from time to time;
To third party suppliers and agents (including professional advisers) who perform services for and on behalf of CMC and process Clients’ personal data strictly in accordance with our instructions;
To persons acting in a representative, fiduciary or attorney capacity in relation to a Client’s account;
To any person having a legal or beneficial interest in relation to a Client’s account;
Where such disclosure is reasonably necessary to prevent actual or potential breaches of law and/or inappropriate use of our products/services; or
To comply with applicable laws, court orders or regulatory requirements.
Retention of personal data
Clients’ personal data is held for as long as the purpose for which it was collected remains and until retention is no longer necessary for business purposes or legal requirements.
Protection of personal data
Reasonable procedures have been implemented to ensure CMC protects personal data of Clients. These include procedural, physical and electronic safeguards. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we cannot guarantee the security of personal data transmitted via the Internet and you should install anti-virus software when transmitting personal data to us or receiving personal data from us.
Accuracy of personal data
To ensure that CMC holds accurate and current information, we ask that Clients promptly notify us of any changes to the personal data we hold about them.
Access to personal data
Clients may, at any time, request that we provide a copy of the personal data we hold concerning them. Should a Client wish to make such a request, they may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Clients may at any time request that we stop contacting them for marketing purposes.
